Game of the Century… of the… um…

…yeah… not so much.

The bottom eleven’s Game of the Century… of the Week segment takes a break this week as, well, there just isn’t a match-up to live up to the billing. Had Iowa not gone down to Iowa State, its game with Wisconsin might have earned the title. Alabama-Georgia? Not with Georgia having already lost. The lone pairing of unbeatens – South Carolina at LSU? With apologies to the Mercury News’s Jon Wilner, who voted South Carolina No. 4 in his Associated Press ballot this week, this scribe isn’t sold on the east coast USC. And the game is in Baton Rouge where the Tigers have won 16-straight. LSU is 9-1 at home against South Carolina and is 14-2-1 all-time against the Gamecocks. Even with Spurrier, it just doesn’t reach that status.

So take advantage of this weekend to get a few chores done. Cross a few items off the “honey-do” list. Those points could come in handy in a couple weeks.

Worth keeping an eye on:
Penn State at Michigan – Can the Wolverines right the ship?
Washington at UCLA – Do the Huskies steal a key Pac-10 win and commence the demise of Karl Dorrell?
